RAIN, SLEET NOR DARK OF NIGHT...RACE #1

The first Dusty Boot Short Track series race was contested Friday eve despite a torrential rain/sleet storm just an hour prior to the start of the race. A PILE of kids showed up to race however big people numbers were dismal. The B race saw a total of 20 men and women do battle and it was living legend Dawes Wilson unleashing the fury for the win as he redeemed his "kidnapped" brown shirt episode by throwin it down on the youth of the valley. Jody Diemer took the wome's race. The A race was taken by Mike Pastore with a signature last lap attack that was unable to be answered by the rest of the field.
***A quick and important note to all racers for this upcoming Friday's race #2. We need more short trackers to show and throw, plain and simple, or this series goes away. Most of you do not know how much it costs to put these races on in terms of money and time. This first race was a loss as it actually costs right around $500 to put EACH race on before course materials and time. If you the racer want to continue to have these types of events available, you've got to support them. This week will be the chance to show "better" support, or this series will disappear. It's just not feasible to spend $200-$300 out of my pocket to watch you race at each race. We'll see you this Friday, and hopefully the Friday after that.***
